Bubbles

I witness really random happenings in Copley Square.  There are two statues in the square that commemorate the Boston Marathon, the tortoise and the hare.  These two statues are very popular with the tourists and children.  Sadly, they get more action than I do.  Yesterday I was sitting on a bench enjoying my birthday cupcake and an elderly gentlemen appeared and started making bubbles.  It was what he was using to make the bubbles that I found interesting.  In his hand was a plastic cup with the bottom punched out.  He dipped this in a saucer of liquid bubbles, held it up, and let the wind pass through the cup.  Voila! Bubbles.  I was impressed with this ingenious idea.  I don't know how many of you own or have bought a bottle of bubbles recently, but the complimentary wands kinda suck.   I continue to ponder what it is that possessed this man to wonder into Copley Square and make bubbles...

I really like the new look of your blog, Moonwillow. The large orchid photo at top is gorgeous. That’s a great idea the man had. I appreciate folks that are kids at heart—I’m one and will always be. Your post reminds me of a lady in Berkeley, California. She was known as the bubble lady and anyone strolling the streets near the campus would surely see her blowing through her wand making bubbles for everyone to enjoy! I had forgotten about her, so I’m glad your post reminded me of a distant memory.
