The Cave

There is a cave that exists
It is deep in our psyche
Our unique self knows the path
When the sky is completely dark
And the earth is frozen with disappointment
the cave exists for our well being
A haven, an escape from the atrocities
committed against us
A place where there is perpetual sunshine
and peace and happiness
Where people love one another
The idea of compassion is more than an idea
it is a reality
The egotistical condition of narcissm is vanquished
and altruism reigns in our hearts
but if we trust to share this place with others
they will destroy it
Like they destroy everything else
