Can you see the irony?

Robert Downey Jr. in the movie "Less Than Zero." Set in California in the 1980s, this tragic tale chronicles the reunion of three high school graduates over the Christmas holiday.  Downey's character Julian who attempts to realize his dream of opening a night club, fails, and finds comfort in heroin.  This addiction leaves him in arrears with his dealer who ultimately subjects him to male prostitution to settle his debt.
