This beautiful wildflower is Queen Anne's Lace. The story goes as the legendary Queen Anne of England was tatting lace, she pricked her finger. A droplet of blood stained the lace. Hence the dark flower in the middle represents the blood and the white blossoms the lace.
There is a theory that by ingesting Queen Anne's Lace, it acts as a contraceptive. Be careful though because this flower bears a resemblance to the poisonous Hemlock plant.
This fall I'm going to harvest some QAL seeds and plant them in my garden next Sring.

I *love* this wildflower. It's so delicate looking and gives pattern and movement to a garden. :)
